This is what I look like
beneath my human overskin.
If you want to make a mask
of your inner alien, follow
these directions:

Set up an area covered with
newspapers or oil cloth.  Use
a bowl that you'll be willing to
scrub at the end.  You'll need
to stir the gloppy mixture
between applications.  Rinse
your spoon or whisk after
each time you stir so that the
flour paste doesn't harden.

1) Mix one part flour to one
part water in a large bowl.
Add flour until the mixture
gets a thickish and gloppy.

2) Take a large sheet of tin
foil.  Press it over your face
making sure the foil follows
the contours of your eyes,
nose, cheekbone and chin.
Wad up newspapers and
place them under the mask
to keep the features distinct.
Trim extra foil around mask
after it has dried.

3) Tear off pieces of
newspaper.  Soak them with
the glop.  If the paper gets
too saturated, use your
fingers to take off excess.

4) Mold the paper over the
tin foil mask.  Cover the
mask completely.

5) Wait for each layer to dry.
A hair dryer helps to speed
up the process. Hold it far
enough away so nothing
burns.

6) Keep putting layers
around mask. Use extra to
build up nose, lips, around
the eyes, or to put in any
unique alien characteristics.

7) When mask is dry, use
acrylic paints to color and
add features.

8) If you wish, poke the end
of a pair of scissors through
the eye holes and use the
scissors to sculpt the shape
of the eyes.  Best done by
keeping scissors closed and
circling. Do the same thing
for nose or the mouth. You
may wish to paint these
features, though, if you don't
plan on wearing the mask.
